Time Traveller: This radio station was devoted solely to Lions Gate Bridge traffic

Did any of you Vancouver commuters ever tune in to Lions Gate Radio, 94.5 on the FM dial?

In October 1999, the BC Transportation Financing Authority announced a new station would launch on FM 94.5, called Lions Gate Radio.

The station, led by broadcaster Cameron Bell, was used to distribute information regarding the Lions Gate Bridge rehabilitation project which included seismic upgrades, lane widening on the bridge deck, and upgrades to the Stanley Park causeway.

These upgrades required many closures of the bridge and commuters were urged, via street signs around Vancouver and North Vancouver, to listen to the station for real-time updates. Do you remember listening in?
