Cameron McDonald, born in Grand Forks, B.C., in 1899, was a member of the Grouse Mountain Ski Club, the Tyee Ski Runners Club, and the Noseeums Cabin on Grouse Mountain.
McDonald, shown here between two fellow ski buffs, helped build the first ski runs on the mountain. In 1939 a brick wall fell on him during construction work, which sadly put an end to his skiing career.
Following this he served as the Tyee sports chairman and as a race official and ski jumping judge, and in 1954 he was made a lifetime member of the Tyee Ski Runners.
