Sometimes, a special development comes to market beyond anyone's expectations, with a certain indefinable quality, something that has to be experienced to be understood—because it's been described as magical.

Living in the highly coveted Britannia Beach Townhomes is to exist at the intersection of historical significance and modern-day. The seaside master-planned community pairs a collection of 73 modern executive, family-sized homes with a historic artisan village and vibrant local fare.

The project is a collaboration between two award-winning and trusted developers, Adera Development Corporation and Macdonald Communities Limited, who bring decades of quality building to the three-phase development.

"In the first release, we had people who had waited a long time, 20 years in some cases, to get a place here," says Eric Andreasen, Adera's senior VP of sales. “But we also had like-minded people from Eastern Canada and the US purchase in this special location. Some have said: 'The experience of living in Britannia Beach is way better than what we thought could be possible.'”

He continues, “One thing is sure, there are only a few homes left and they will go quickly this fall.”

This location has been a primary place to live for a long time—from the Coast Salish peoples to today, where people are moving into modern homes with a historical village that's going to be modernly re-outfitted."

Residences and historic village

The imminent release of 15 two- and three-bedroom townhomes in Phase 3 range from 1,500 to 1,700 square feet. End homes include double-car garages and rooftop decks, while others have spacious balconies.

The village buildings will be transformed into an amenity-rich retail village with artisanal vendors: think bakeries, brewpubs, grocers, daycares, restaurants, cafes, and other shops, including local artisan works.

Imagine strolling the village, grabbing groceries at the Dining Room and Bunkhouse, running into neighbours, and conjuring up a dinner invite on the fly—leaving with all your fresh organics and barbeque essentials.

They pick up a bottle of wine (or two) conveniently from the same spot, and it's not long before you're entertaining on your rooftop deck with 360-degree water-mountain views. Next time, their treat: craft beers and a meal in one of the three eateries in The Schoolhouse.

The energetic hub will reinvigorate the area, serving as an engaging place to socialize and unwind while being the commercial core for the mountainside community and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

"This village will be a real wow factor for people travelling the corridor, perhaps on their way to Whistler," says Andreasen, "who may never make it past Britannia Beach that day because there's just so much to see and do."
