On April 17th, developers Brimming Development and SwissReal Group celebrated the start of construction for Pierwell, their much-anticipated luxury condominium development in West Vancouver and the first condominium to start construction in Dundarave in eight years. This marks a significant milestone for the development, and for Dundarave Village, where there are few new condominium developments on the horizon.

Located in the heart of Dundarave Village, Pierwell features just 36 residences, including 11 beachside townhomes with breathtaking views and an elegant coastal design.

“This is a landmark occasion for us as it shows our commitment to delivering these homes,” says Connor Yang, Brimming Development CEO. “Nothing has been built to this scale in Dundarave for a decade, and nothing is planned for the near future. This really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for buyers.”

Yang, whose company has successfully built luxury homes and mixed-use developments, says they have received positive feedback and garnered much interest. “We spent a lot of time and resources incorporating the culture, history and what the community and local business want to see into a remarkable development.”

“Despite current market challenges, we are proud to be moving forward, and our presale campaign has been quite successful,” says Franz Gehriger, SwissReal executive director and founder. “What makes Pierwell so unique is its location. Dundarave is a quiet, secluded village without high-rise towers and with direct access to a sandy beach, a beachfront seawall and a variety of boutique stores in the village. These amenities are what make this development different from any other, adding huge value for our buyers.”

Gehriger, who has lived and worked in West Vancouver for more than 45 years, has a deep understanding of the Dundarave community and its needs. “One of the reasons for our partnership with Brimming was to deliver the perfect product to stand the test of time. Our heart is in this area, and we know what people are looking for.”

Crafted by award-winning international firm Arcadis IBI Group, Pierwell’s architecture showcases a blend of natural stone, wood and modern glass to reflect its history and seafront setting. The building has been designed as a row of smaller buildings to fit with the distinct character of Dundarave Village. The interiors, designed by Cristina Oberti, also epitomize coastal elegance, with Italian cabinetry, integrated Gaggenau appliances and Duravit and Kohler fixtures.

Amenities include a two-level fitness centre, yoga space, smart technology, keyless entry, secure parcel lockers, dog spa, secure bike storage and large outdoor spaces, all designed to take advantage of the ocean views and proximity to the seawall.

SwissReal and Brimming marked the start of construction with a special event that brought together the development team and representatives from the District of West Vancouver, local residents and business associations, buyers and realtors to celebrate this significant milestone.

Another community event will be held on site on May 3, from 12 - 3 pm, for the West Vancouver community with live music, prizes, food and drinks.

Pierwell is expected to complete construction towards the end of 2027. The Sales Gallery is open by private appointment. For more information, visit pierwell.ca.
