It’s a game that North Shore soccer fans won’t want to miss.

On Sunday, the Altitude FC men's team will face off against the Vancouver Whitecaps L1 squad at 1 p.m. in Kinsmen Field in North Vancouver.

The matchup marks Altitude’s first playoff match in three seasons, for either the men’s or women’s teams, and the club won't be charging admission fees for the game.

“It’s a big event for us and our soccer community,” said club spokesperson Mark Marshall, encouraging fans to make it out to the free semi-pro sporting event.

Sunday’s match should make for some intense play, as the rival teams look to settle a score. On June 12, the teams tied 1-1, their second consecutive draw this season.

Altitude is entering the playoffs as the second seed in League 1 BC, with a 6-3-3 record in the regular season (21 points). The Whitecaps L1 team is third seed with a 5-3-4 record (19 points).
