Time Traveller: Burrard Dry Dock gets an assist from a friendly neighbour

Setting up shop right next to a tugboat company had its benefits for the North Vancouver shipyard

The Burrard Dry Dock had many local business partners during its operation. For example, being neighbours with C.H. Cates & Sons had many benefits.

Shown here are three Cates tugboats helping to move a marine ways towards the dock. A marine ways is a ramp and cradle for boats to be placed on and pushed in towards the dry dock.

In the photo you can see the cradle with each of the beams surrounding it. In the background what appears to be the North Vancouver Ferry is on the approach with passengers who could be working at Burrard Dry Dock.
