Good news for everyone hoping to skip fall and get right to ski season.

The first snowfall of the season is forecasted to hit the North Shore mountains next Tuesday, according to snow-forecast.com.

As temperatures are expected to cool early next week, hitting a low of 7 C on Tuesday in the North Capilano area, it could get as cold as -4 C on the North Shore mountains by Tuesday evening.

As much as 20 centimetres of snow is forecasted to fall on Mount Seymour, Grouse Mountain and at Cypress Mountain Resort.

While it won’t be enough fresh powder to hit the slopes, there’s no downside to getting your skis and boards waxed early.
