Sure, you could take your kids to the mall to meet Santa...
Or you could take them straight to the North Pole!
Step aboard the North Pole Express for a festive family adventure like no other. Departing from the Railway Museum of British Columbia., aka North Pole Express Station, this enchanting train ride whisks you and your little elves on a mission to help Marshall P. Bear—the lovable head of Santa’s workshop—and deliver much-needed wrapping paper and bows just in time for the holidays.
Along the way, you and your family will meet all sorts of characters, enjoy cookies on the train and indulge in unlimited hot chocolate and marshmallows at the North Pole, along with plenty of festive activities. The trip will ultimately lead you to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus for a jolly family photoshoot that captures the magic of the day. The fully immersive holiday train ride sells out every year but fortunately, there are still some tickets available HERE.
We’ve partnered with the Railway Museum of British Columbia to award one lucky winner a private coach ride on The North Pole Express for up to 15 people valued at over $1,750 CDN! You can enter for a chance to win via the contest entry form below:
The train ride itself spans 50 minutes along an 11km route and concludes back at the North Pole—a sprawling 37,000-square-foot indoor holiday haven where you and your family will have time to explore Santa’s beautiful home. Here you can soak in the holiday cheer, decorate a gingerbread cookie, try your hand at colouring and arts and crafts and take in the massive Christmas model railway city.

This year’s train is powered by the Railway Museum of British Columbia’s 1950s-era FP9A locomotives and includes the historic Canadian Pacific “Alberta Business Car,” featuring an open observation platform. The journey runs on Canadian National Railway tracks and takes about 2–3 hours to complete in total.
