What is surely one of Bowen Island’s most impressive properties has been listed on the MLS at $19,998,000.
It’s not the first time in recent years this huge estate has been put on the market. The sprawling home, which also boasts high-end leisure facilities, a large guest house and extensive waterfront land, was listed in 2017 for $3 million more than its current price, at $22,998,000, with no evidence of a sale at that time.
The 14-acre estate was re-listed on the market May 7, and was the region’s third-priciest new listing of last week (May 7-13) – after this re-listed $24.75 million Southlands mansion, and a $22.18 million West Vancouver waterfront home that has also been marketed several times in recent years.
The West Coast Modernist-style house is vast, with a total of a whopping 21,526 square feet of interior space. That’s comprised of 11,360 square feet in the main five-bedroom house, which includes a 69-by-30-foot indoor swimming pool with glass cathedral ceilings and a high waterslide (see main image above).
The separate guest/caretaker house is 2,857 square feet including two bedrooms, a gym and a hobby room, and there’s also 7,309 square feet of indoor tennis facilities.
The master bedroom in the main house is another highlight, with two ensuites and two walk-in closets.
Located in Bowen Island’s chi-chi Point Hood on the north shore, the 14-acre estate also boasts 1,500 feet of rugged waterfront and incredible ocean, island and mountain views.
We hope the buyer has deep pockets as, in addition to that purchase price and what must be staggering maintenance costs, property taxes in 2017 were $18,735.74.
