Wolf Pack win a pair in pink

The North Van Wolf Pack scored a pair of road wins last week to move into sole possession of second place in the PJHL’s Tom Shaw Conference.

On Wednesday the Wolf Pack got goals from Nathan McCarnan, Justin Lee and rookie Dario Esposito, his first in the PJHL, as they topped the Aldergrove Kodiaks 3-1 at Aldergrove Community Arena.

On Saturday Caleb Holonko scored the game-winner in the third period while Lee, Marku Kwan and Kaz Minemoto also found the back of the net in a 4-2 win over the Mission City Outlaws at Mission Leisure Centre. scored his first PJHL goal. Alex Forster made 25 saves to record his fifth win of the season, upping his save percentage to 0.920.  

The Wolf Pack players surprised team management with a player-led initiative to get everybody to lace their skates with pink of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“All of us know someone who has been affected by Breast Cancer,” said team captain Mitch Ledyard in a Wolf Pack release. “We added the pink details to show that we are aware and we care about all the women affected by breast cancer." 

The Pack will be back at home Saturday, Oct. 28 for a matchup against the Abbotsford Pilots, the first place team in the Harold Brittain Conference. Puck drop is 7 p.m. at Harry Jerome Arena.
