Two old rivals will battle for one precious playoff win Thursday, Nov. 2 as the Argyle Pipers will face the Handsworth Royals in senior boys AAA soccer.

The side will meet at 3 p.m. today at Ambleside D with the winner moving on in the zone payoffs and the loser putting their school jerseys away for the season. The same two teams met in a spirited affair Oct. 24 with Handsworth claiming a shootout victory following a 2-2 regulation time draw.

The winner of Thursday’s playoff matchup will take on the second-seeded team from Burnaby/New West Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. at William Griffin turf.

Also on Nov. 7, the Sentinel Spartans, the North Shore’s top-ranked team, will have a chance to secure a spot in the provincial championships when they take on Burnaby/New West’s top seed in a 3 p.m. matchup at Fen Burdett turf field.
