Valentine's Day? In this economy?

Vancouver locals are either spending as little money as possible or as much as they want on Valentine's Day in 2023.

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, many local lovebirds are planning the perfect giftrestaurant dinner, and overall romantic date with their S.O.

However, with inflation bumping up grocery store prices and the infamously expensive rental market (which now sees living rooms for rent), some Vancouverites may be rethinking their budget.

Around 22 per cent of Vancouver locals say that they will be spending as little money as possible on Valentine's Day this year. Around 21 per cent are keeping their budget under $25 and 5 per cent of locals say that their budget falls between $25 and $50.

However, a little over 25 per cent of locals don't have a budget at all, and around 11 per cent of Vancouverites say that their budget is between $50 and $100. Only 6 per cent of locals are willing to spend over $100 on Valentine's Day this year.

A remaining 8 per cent of Vancouverites are opting to make things themselves rather than buy them.
