A North Vancouver woman who lost her diamond ring while engaged in the distinctly un-romantic task of picking up after her dog has been reunited with her dazzler after reading about it in the North Shore News.
Two weeks ago, on Nov. 20, the gold ring with a sizable rock was turned in to the RCMP by a homeowner who found the twinkly jewelry on a driveway.
That was a lucky break for one North Vancouver woman.
She had been out walking her dog in the Kilmer Road area and bent down to clean up after the pooch when the ring apparently slipped off her finger, said Corp. Richard De Jong, spokesman for the North Vancouver RCMP.
When she read about the found diamond in the North Shore News, the woman hoped it might be hers and came to the detachment.

Police said at the time it looked like there had been a wedding band attached to the ring at one point.
Turns out they were right.
“The ring fit perfectly with the wedding band,” said Corp. Richard De Jong when the woman slipped it back on her finger. “It was kind of like the Cinderella slipper.”
De Jong said the woman was very happy to have the ring returned.
