North Shore residents, have you been cheering at 7 p.m. each night? Are you wondering if those cheers have been penetrating the walls of Lions Gate Hospital and other health-care facilities where front-line workers are fighting to keep us all safe from COVID-19?
The answer is a resounding "yes!"
On Saturday Vancouver Coastal Health shared photos from inside Lions Gate Hospital showing members of the hospital's emergency department and COVID-19 unit as well as workers from the security, volunteer, food services and environmental services teams holding up signs saying they hear the cheers and are grateful for the support.
The photos came with a note: "Lion's Gate Hospital has a special message for our North Shore neighbours: 'Thank you!'"

In recent days the nightly 7 p.m. cheer has included a bagpiper as well as a parade of fire trucks, police cars and ambulances with lights flashing and sirens blaring. You can join the cheer tonight, from a safe distance from your neighbour of course, and know that your support is reaching those on the front lines who are leading the fight.
