October is Women’s History Month in Canada! Here is the story of the Crowhurst softball team, one of the most successful sports teams in North Vancouver history.

The team, managed by Jo Crowhurst who ran Crowhurst Motors, captured six consecutive B.C. provincial softball championships from 1952 to 1957. In the above photo, provided to us by Len Corben, you can see star centre-fielder Rosemary “Bubs” Robinson heading into home plate at Norgate Park.

Bubs was a member of all six championship teams. If you know anything about the Crowhurst team, please reach out to our archives team [email protected] to share!
