Eight North Shore leaders nominated for YWCA Women of Distinction Awards

Winners announced at awards gala May 13 in Vancouver

Eight North Shore women have been nominated for the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards.

The annual awards recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations that contribute to the success of their community.

West Vancouver nominees include:

Business & the Professions

Cathy Imrie - senior vice-president, business and CFO, Ocean Wise Conservation Association

Research, the Sciences & Technology

Suzanne Lewis – chief medical officer and vice-president research at Pacific Autism Family Network

North Vancouver nominees include:

Business & the Professions

Tracey Arnish - chief member experience officer, Coast Capital Savings

Lisa Southern - founder and lawyer, Southern & Associates

Education, Training & Development

Doreen Manuel – director, Bosa Centre for Film and Animation, Capilano University

Non-Profit

Lisa Hubbard – executive director, North Shore Neighbourhood House

Arts, Culture, Design

Jessica Bouchard – associate director, The Polygon Gallery

Young Woman of Distinction

Jennifer Wildi – UBC medical student, co-ordinator of Canuck Place visits and chair of school visits with the Reading Bear Society

The YWCA Metro Vancouver was founded in 1897. The non-profit organization provides a range of integrated services for women and their families, including early learning and child care, housing, health and fitness, employment services and leadership.
