Get set to get wet.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver, including North Vancouver and West Van. Heavy rain totalling 50-70 millimetres is expected in the region starting Friday evening and into Saturday morning.

"A robust and rain laden frontal system will slide down the B.C. coast today," reads a statement from the weather service. "Rain, at times heavy, will begin late this afternoon for Howe Sound and the Sea to Sky, and this evening for the remainder of the regions. The heaviest rain will ease later Saturday morning as the frontal system passes through."

Environment Canada warns of water pooling on roads and the potential for flooding due to blocked drains, adding that localized flooding may occur in low-lying areas.
