Temperatures are expected to climb across the Lower Mainland following a rainy federal election day on Monday, April 28.
V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 12 C and a low of 10 C with approximately a millimetre of rainfall on Monday, followed by similar temperatures, a high of 13 C with a low of 10 C, and a 45 per cent chance of showers on Tuesday.
Other Metro Vancouver areas will experience a wet start to the week, although precipitation amounts will vary. For instance, the Burnaby West neighbourhood is expected to see a high of 13 C and a low of 9 C on Monday with up to 2 mm of precipitation.
But a ridge of high pressure is expected to start building Tuesday, ushering in warmer and drier conditions in the Metro Vancouver weather forecast.
For example, the downtown core is expected to see temperatures climb to 15 C on Wednesday and 20 C on Thursday. In Burnaby West, temperatures are expected to climb even higher with highs of 18 C and 24 C.
Other neighbourhoods are also expected to see similar mid-week weather. Surrey City Centre is expected to see highs of 17 C and 23 C on Wednesday and Thursday, while Coquitlam Centre is expected to reach highs of 18 C and 24 C.

The seven-day forecast includes a shift back to dreary weather starting on Friday.
The downtown core's forecast shows a 78 per cent chance of two mm of precipitation, while other areas, such as Burnaby West, may receive six mm.
Saturday's forecast includes more wet weather, with roughly five mm of precipitation expected in most parts of the region.
Sunday may see a respite from the dreary conditions, with a mix of sun and cloud expected and only an 18-per-cent chance of showers.
