Vancouver weather: 7-day forecast includes two rainstorms

Two heavy rainstorms are included in this week's forecast...but some sun is expected on the weekend, too.

Vancouverites should brace for at least two significantly wet days this week...but they also have a few opportunities to see the aurora borealis when the sky is clear.

The seven-day forecast includes a few days with a mix of sun and cloud and two with moderate to heavy rainfall. The remaining days show the possibility of some showers and overcast conditions.

V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 16 C and a low of 9 C with a mix of sun and cloud on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Cloud coverage is expected to intensify through the night and moderately heavy rainfall should commence on Friday in the late morning through the early afternoon. Up to 21 mm of rain is expected throughout the day (see slide two).

Following a rainy start, the rest of the weekend looks dry with a mix of sun and cloud on Saturday and Sunday. A daytime high of 15 C is expected on Saturday, while Sunday is expected to feel warmer, reaching a high of 17 C.

Vancouver weather forecast

Heading into next week, Monday's forecast includes light showers throughout the day with amounts totalling around 10 mm.

Heavy rainfall is expected on Tuesday, with the downtown area's forecast showing up to 27 mm of rainfall throughout the day.

The wet weather is expected to taper off on Wednesday, with only light showers in the morning (precipitation amounts of 1 mm or less are expected).
