An Arthur Erickson-designed home reimagined with an eye for luxury has hit the market in West Vancouver.
Part of a community designed by the architectural giant, along with famed landscape architect Cornelia Oberlander, the property at 5325 Montiverdi Place is being listed for $6.7 million.
The home was originally built in 1979 as one of 20 residences in the Montiverdi Estates development, which all feature post-and-beam construction and green roofs – elements found in other Erickson projects.
But the house being sold underwent an extensive three-year renovation, which wrapped up in 2023. While the exterior still blends with the neighbouring structures, much of the interior is unrecognizable to the original styling.
The 3,980-square-foot floor plan includes three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a media room, den, office, gym and studio/games room, as well as an open-plan main floor with an updated kitchen, living and dining areas. Outside, there are multiple patios, one of which hosts a hot tub on the lower floor. There’s also an elevator.
The renovation also involves an exterior rain screen, with new windows, electrical, plumbing and heating upgrades throughout the home.
To put shine on the landscape, lighting has been added to the walkways and landscape to give dramatic effect at nighttime.
Another Montiverdi Estates home – which was not extensively renovated – listed in May 2023 for $3 million but was not sold.
