Dear Editor:

I wanted to thank a lovely woman who made two "feisty old ladies" very happy and grateful. A friend and I went for dinner to Blue Eyed Marys the day after Valentine's. My friend is somewhat hard of hearing and we were perhaps speaking a bit loudly given the size of the space.

We spoke briefly to the woman and her sweet little daughter, who ate quietly near us. When we finished our meal, the waiter brought us a note, which said "Happy Valentine's Day to two feisty ladies." This young woman had paid for our meal and left with her little girl.

My friend and I were so taken aback, especially as we thought we may have been a bit annoying by speaking loudly, to find that such a kind gesture had been made. It lifted our spirits for days! Thank you.
