Dear Editor:

I have little sympathy for Justin De Genova's inability to get around the city for work (90-Day Ban Appealed, Dec. 21, North Shore News); he should have thought about the consequences of his irresponsible behavior before he started drinking.

The new driving laws were shouted from the roof tops for many months prior to implementation, yet De Genova chose to get behind the wheel of a car in an impaired state with no thought for the people he could have injured or killed. I can only hope that the law can be changed without dilution of the penalties.
