Dear Editor:
My feelings of shock and dread from discovering I had misplaced/lost my little purse at Little Cates Park last Tuesday (March 16), containing all my important cards, were quickly dissipated when a young woman with her two children asked me if I had lost something.
When I described it, one of the children held up the lost item with a smile on her face. But her smile did not match mine!
The woman had found it in the ladies’ washroom and worried that someone might take it away so she took it with her and sat on a park bench and waited for someone who looked like the photo on my licence to show up.
I don’t even know how long she had been waiting.
Unfortunately, in my state of gratitude and relief, I did not ask the woman’s name but want to thank her for her thoughtfulness and kindness.
What a great role model she is for her children and for us all. Thank you.
