Dear editor:
Re: Keith Road ‘Rat Runners’ Putting Neighbourhoods at Risk, Aug. 7 Mailbox.
I sympathize with the letter-writer that high-speed traffic through residential areas is getting very dangerous on the North Shore, particularly those wanting to avoid congested areas and instead take a shortcut through quieter neighbourhoods.
An example is Edgemont Village. Starting at 3 p.m., long lines of cars are now leaving the highway and will take a shortcut through Edgemont Boulevard, often racing through the village as fast as possible.
To keep our young families safe, I urge the district designate this area for local traffic only.
Let’s be proactive to keep our neighbourhoods safe.
