An open letter to my Blueridge neighbours:
And so it continues. My letter from last summer had no effect whatsoever.
Still I encounter litter everywhere I walk. Berkeley Road is the No. 1 offender.
Most of it is not the homeowner’s fault. Litter is thrown out by passersby, where if not removed, flows via the street drains into the ocean - a nightmare scenario for the ocean environment.
All who participate in this behaviour are a menace to our wonderful Earth.
The worst offensive are Tim Horton’s and Starbucks single-use cups.
Included are cigarette butts, styrofoam food containers, plastic straws (yes, they are still being used and tossed), single-use bottles and cans, plastic grocery bags, candy wrappers, etc.
Please have a talk with yourselves and realize that if every household would just pick up trash in front of your own home, it would make such a huge difference.
Let’s try that, shall we?
I and the ocean are counting on you.
