Letter: Good grocery deed was paid forward

It’s not the first time this has happened in West Vancouver and it won’t be the last.

Dear Editor:

Recently, while shopping at the IGA in Dundarave, West Vancouver, I prepared to use my IGA Community card to pay for my order. Aware I would need to add funds to my card in order to cover my purchases, I was shocked and dismayed not to find my VISA in my wallet.

Embarrassed, I asked the cashier to remove some items from my order, when the kind woman behind me told the cashier not to do that and handed her $40 to cover my bill. When I thanked her for her generosity, she simply said, “Pay it forward.”

A contribution has been made to Feed the Need West Vancouver, but her thoughtfulness is a confirmation of the wonderfully supportive and caring community we share.
