Dear Editor:
As all readers will be aware, 2008 was the beginning of the worst economic downturn we have experienced since the Great Depression. Governments were affected worldwide. Unfortunately, gaming-grants funding for the arts and other sectors was reduced in reflection of the difficult economic times. We have since added funding to the Community Gaming Grants program, bringing the total amount to $135 million for each of the last two fiscal years.
I am holding a Community Gaming Grant workshop on June 6 from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p.m. at the Parkgate Community Centre. Everyone is invited to attend if they register at Jane. [email protected].
I am always happy to visit groups who are applying and receiving grants so that I can further advocate for their needs within government.
