Dear Editor:
Colleen Dawson's rage over her yellow recycling bag limits (Mailbox, April 11) merits an easy solution. Mine was to get a second blue box and designate it for mixed paper. I save some larger, heavier pieces of paper, or set aside newly acquired phone books that I didn't want, and place them on top of the shredded paper when it's ready to go out. It doesn't need to go out every week, and I try to put it out on dry(er) pick-up days. I put my bottles and cans in my other blue box. I rarely use the blue newspaper bag for papers as I don't subscribe to any.
I've handled my recycling this way for more than 10 years with no problems.
