This is the last North Shore News editorial of 2024. We want to thank you for sharing your stories and your valuable attention with us for another year.

If you need a refresher on all of the biggest happenings on the North Shore in 2024, we've got you covered with our annual year in review. This is our collective story.

If we can be so bold, our suggested New Year’s resolution for 2025 doesn’t have anything to do with how many sit-ups you can do or how much wine you should drink. This year, we want you to embrace a bit positive thinking. Believe in the best possible outcome. And should that outcome not arrive, find the silver linings. And should those silver linings be hard to spot, remember how to celebrate the small victories. And should that be hard to do, look around you and remember how blessed we all are living here on the North Shore.

In a world of tremendous challenges, we will all need these skills for our own sake and so we can be ready to support those around us who are facing a struggle.

Whether you prefer sparkling wine or sparkling water, when the ball drops at midnight, we want your glass to be half full because there are a couple things you can count on: The sun will come up on New Year’s Day. And we’ll be here with you, eager to face 2025 with whatever challenges and triumphs it has in store for us.

Happy New Year.
