Blue Bus driver showcases West Van's community spirit

Dear Editor: After reading so many unpleasant stories about our bus drivers being badly treated by some members of the public, I feel that a driver who performs above his required duties should be recognized and congratulated.

Dear Editor:

After reading so many unpleasant stories about our bus drivers being badly treated by some members of the public, I feel that a driver who performs above his required duties should be recognized and congratulated.

On a recent morning around 11 a.m., on the No. 250 to Horseshoe Bay, the driver - Mr. Satchu - took the time to help a frail senior passenger to get on the bus, helped him find a seat and, when asked how to reach a certain address, patiently explained the route until the passenger seemed comfortable with the instructions.

The driver also found a young lady going in the same direction who volunteered to accompany the gentleman to his destination.

What an example of community spirit. This is what makes West Vancouver the best community to live in for a friendly and safe atmosphere.
