Dear Editor:
My son Ben Rogers wanted to email the people in charge of making the decision to eliminate the standard school calendar and to take away his summer vacation. These are his words:
Dear Mr. Abbott:
Please don't take away my summer vacation. There are lots of things you can only do when you are off in the summer, like go sailing, go on long camping trips, go hiking, go to the beach, have friends and cousins from far away come and visit, go visit friends and family far away and meet new friends and learn interesting things in summer camps. I also get to spend a lot of time with my family, especially my brother in the summer. In the summer, I get to be myself with my family and friends and I don't have to worry about bullies or having to rush in the morning. It is also fun to see and learn about wildlife in the summer. I couldn't see wildlife at school, inside. I spend most of the summer outside and I would really miss that.
