What are your priorities if elected? Finding ways to ease traffic congestion; promoting affordable housing options; providing more public spaces for quiet study/work and interconnectedness; and reducing all forms of waste.
Is the city managing growth appropriately? The sorry state of traffic is related to affordability, transit and infrastructure. We need to slow down the pace of development a) to allow infrastructure and transit to catch up and b) to allow us to analyse traffic and affordability data before the approval of major development proposals.
Are you open to amalgamating with the District of North Vancouver? I support a culture of collaboration amongst all government levels, and a thorough study of the benefits and disadvantages of amalgamation before any further action.
Should the city facilitate affordable housing and if so, how? The near-zero vacancy rate and high housing costs are affecting livability and traffic. A continuum of housing options are needed including below market provisions.
