Is the present council effectively managing growth in the municipality? West Vancouver is not prepared to deal with the regional pressures of affordability and accessibility which is why our population is declining. The new mayor and council are going to have to work expedient with all levels of government for the community to catch up.
Should West Vancouver take steps to curb vacant homes, housing speculation and/or foreign ownership and if so, how? Yes. Advocate strongly to change the parameters of the Speculation Tax, making it a tax that works for our community, not hurt our responsible citizens.
What is your vision for the Ambleside waterfront? Leave it as natural as possible while making improvements to the existing buildings that highlight and house the history, character and cultural activity of our community. Add businesses and venues along Bellevue and draw out the many people who use our waterfront, to experience local culture.
What are your priorities if elected? Rebuild the sense of community and pride that has been eroded. Embrace the changes we have been resisting and integrate them in an inspiring way.
