What is the single biggest challenge facing the school district and how will you achieve a solution? To get the focus back on the question of how to improve student outcomes. Far too much time, effort, and money has been spent focussing on improper trustee behaviour and its consequences. I will maintain my own professional and respectful conduct, demand it of others, and insist on transparency.
What are your thoughts on the province’s new curriculum? Increased choice for students is a good thing, as is flexibility for teachers. More effort and money is needed to ensure teachers have sufficient resources.
Why do we need a school board when so much is dictated by the province? The job of the Board is to ensure that the school district reflects the priorities of, and responds to the concerns of, the local community.
