Is the present council effectively managing growth in the municipality? Residents are moving out of West Van in droves because they can’t find the right housing. We need to increase the density and diversity of housing stock in appropriate locations so that residents who want to stay in West Van can find the housing they need when they move.
Should West Vancouver take steps to curb vacant homes, housing speculation and/or foreign ownership and if so, how? Locals-first sales are a good start but we must work closely with the Province if we want to successfully make this a vibrant community.
What is your vision for the Ambleside waterfront? Ambleside is in need of a revival to make it a place where people can’t wait to go walking, shopping, biking, and to enjoy the scenery. It needs better transportation access (ie. parking, transit, etc) as well as diverse, vibrant businesses that highlight the best of West Vancouver.
What are your priorities if elected? Better housing options, transportation efficiency, governance/tax dollar effectiveness. We need Councillors willing to make tough decisions, with a clear vision of what WV can become.
