What are your priorities if elected?
- Continuing to find creative solutions to affordable housing.
- Implementing recommendations of INSTPP to improve transportation.
- Delivering a new Harry Jerome that we can afford.
Is the city managing growth appropriately? I believe growth needs to be at the right pace, the right place, and the right kind. Our development stays within the level of our OCP. Is situated exactly where it is intended ie/Regional Town Centre/transit corridor. Is providing purpose rental, housing for young families, people with disabilities and seniors.
Are you open to amalgamating with the District of North Vancouver? No. City residents would see financial reserves stripped and taxes go up. I am open to continue supporting shared services and looking for further efficiencies.
Should the city facilitate affordable housing and if so, how? Yes. Prioritize purpose built rental; partner with private sector/non-profits; lease City lands; supportive housing for seniors/individuals with special needs; leverage senior government funding.
