Age: 54
Occupation: VP, Salon Communications
Do you live in the district? Yes
For how long have you lived in the district? 8 years
Non-incumbents: List municipal committee and/or civic group experience: Board Member, Lookout Society (6 years); Secretary, Lookout Foundation (3 years), Board Member, CIABC (2 years); Advisory Board, Langara College.
What are your priorities if elected? Support alternatives to car use. Advocate for affordable rentals over market condos. Stand up for our parks and green spaces. Encourage more public consultation.
How would you address the district’s transportation needs? The recommendations in the newly released instpp.ca report provide a running start for solutions we can implement quickly. We need to improve sidewalks, bike routes, crosswalks and add more forms and frequency in our transit options. A fixed link is an option we need to start planning for today.
Are you open to amalgamating with the City of North Vancouver? I am open to the idea, however, I have concerns about culture clash, territorialism and poor execution of plans to integrate the two municipalities.
Do you support the planned Maplewood Innovation District? It needs much more work; consideration of the traffic it will generate, routes to schools and environmental impacts. The proposal of exclusive housing is frail.
