What is the single biggest challenge facing the school district and how will you achieve a solution? Extended ancillary support for teachers is a high priority issue for the school district as the composition of classrooms continues to become more diverse. I believe an education system that is inclusive of all students is paramount and I will strive to improve support for our schools.
What are your thoughts on the province’s new curriculum? The new curriculum is progressive and focuses on core competencies while being student centered, promoting critical thinking and real world preparation.
Why do we need a school board when so much is dictated by the province? Local school board is key to the high standard of education expected as they liaise with key stakeholders within the school community and local government.
