Is the present council effectively managing growth in the municipality? No. We have seen a great deal of construction, but it is not what we need to house our residents who wish to downsize or attract young professionals. West Vancouver has only seen 91 market rental units built since 1970 and I believe we need to build more.
Should West Vancouver take steps to curb vacant homes, housing speculation and/or foreign ownership and if so, how? Although a federal Issue, as a community we are suffering from vacant homes, foreign speculation and ownership and record high prices needs to be addressed.
What is your vision for the Ambleside waterfront? My vision is a more vibrant concept for the Waterfront Plan. As it exists now it will be 4 blocks of grass and some plantings. I would like to see a place for boats to tie up and perhaps extend the seawall to 13th street and even a restaurant.
What are your priorities if elected? Working with developers to build the housing options our community needs. Creating “workforce housing” to attract workers to West Vancouver. Parking and transportation solutions
