What is the single biggest challenge facing the school district and how will you achieve a solution? The school board needs effective leadership to respond to the concerns of parents and the needs of students. Recruiting and retaining regular and special ed teachers is a priority. A significant challenge facing our students is cell phone distraction. I am committed to banning cell phones in classrooms.
What are your thoughts on the province’s new curriculum? The new curriculum's focus on Indigenous awareness and reconciliation is an important component of the education system.
Why do we need a school board when so much is dictated by the province? The North Van school board ensures the specific concerns of parents in a district are heard and responded to by the district.
