Is the present council effectively managing growth in the municipality? There's limited growth to manage. We've recently declined by 2,500 residents.Council has stalled housing initiatives that would've served our departed downsizers, workforce and families.Council unanimously passed our OCP, Economic and Arts Strategies. I call for action, not endless debate, to implement these and reverse demographic , housing and business deficits.
Should West Vancouver take steps to curb vacant homes, housing speculation and/or foreign ownership and if so, how? Vacant homes erode neighbourhoods , endanger community. We need accurate , investigated data on ownership and criminal speculation. Then we act to plug loopholes .
What is your vision for the Ambleside waterfront? More than what currently exists. More arts, dining, entertainment , festivals, learning and celebration. Our waterfront could be the central gathering place where friends and families meet with lots to delight them. We're a long way from the vibrancy we've long sought. As your councillor, I will press for more.
