On Saturday December 10th, UBCs War Memorial Gym was the setting for the gold medal game of the 2011 Telus Basketball Tournament. North Vancouvers 5th ranked Handsworth Royals had won 76-73 over the New Westminster Hyaks and 84-82 over the York House Tigers in the semi final to take on the top ranked Riverside Rapids for all the marbles in the championship showdown.
