North Shore schools dominate provincial gymnastics championships

North Shore schools dominated at the recent provincial high school gymnastics championships, winning eight of the nine combined team trophies that were up for grabs at the meet held at Burnaby’s Moscrop Secondary.

The Windsor Secondary program was a big winner at the meet, with the Dukes claiming the overall team title as well as the girls combined team title. The Windsor boys weren’t far behind, finishing second in the combined team competition.

St. Thomas Aquinas was another top school, finishing just behind Windsor to claim second place in the overall team competition while winning first place in the boys team event. Argyle Secondary’s team showed remarkable consistency across the board, winning bronze in the overall team competition as well as both the boys and girls combined events.

Several North Shore gymnasts also bounced onto the podium as individual competitors. Here are the North Shore medallists in the individual all-round competitions:
