A pair of North Shore teams recently saw their dream seasons come to an end one step short of the Little League World Series.
At the Canadian Junior Little League Championships (age 13-14) held this week in Lethbridge, Mt. Seymour finished fourth overall, posting a 3-5 record. The provincial champs made the semifinals, posting a 3-3 record in preliminary play, but lost 19-3 to Alberta in the semifinals before falling 8-2 against Ontario in the bronze medal game Thursday.
At the Canadian Little League Bigs championships (age 16-18) held July 16-23 in Quebec, the District 5 North Shore all-star team posted a 1-4 record. The D5 squad, who scored a provincial title earlier in July, opened with losses to Regina and Victoriaville before scoring a 5-4 win over Lethbridge. Their tournament ended with a pair of losses to Windsor, including 10-4 in the semifinals.
