The U15 squad from North Shore Minor Lacrosse claimed silver at the provincial Tier 2 field lacrosse championships held recently Burnaby.
The North Shore team went undefeated in pool play with two wins and a tie before knocking off Coquitlam 9-7 in the playoffs to earn a spot in the championship final. The golden run finally ended with a tough 10-7 loss against top-ranked Surrey.
According to NSML, this was the first youth field lacrosse team from the North Shore in the provincial championships.
Lacrosse action continues in the spring with North Shore Minor Lacrosse starting up box lacrosse season in April. A new North Vancouver School District lacrosse academy is also set to start up in the fall at Carson Graham Secondary.
