WEST Vancouver's Janet McLachlan helped Canada's women's wheelchair basketball team claim silver at the Parapan American Games held in November in Guadalajara, Mexico.
McLachlan posted eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds in a losing effort as the Canadians fell 69-31 to the United States in the gold medal game. With a top-three finish, however, Canada booked their spot in the 2012 Paralympic Summer Games in London.
Canada finished the tournament with a 4-1 record and reached the podium for the fourth time in four appearances at the Parapan American Games, following gold medal finishes in 1999 and 2003 and a silver medal in 2007.
