An all-star team from North Vancouver’s Highlands Little League won the provincial 9/10 championships in emphatic fashion Sunday, scoring a 12-1 win over Hastings in the final held at Vancouver’s Carnarvon Park.
Pitcher Anthony Setticasi picked up a complete game win as the Highlands squad scored a mercy rule win in four innings. Highlands went 4-2 in round robin play, including a 5-3 loss to Hastings, but shone in the playoffs with an 11-0 win over Little Mountain in the semifinals to set up the rematch against Hastings.
It was the first provincial championships win for Highlands Little League, according to a team official.
