A break and enter suspect is behind bars following tips from the West Vancouver District Watch Program, according to a release from West Van police.

Shortly after the theft of two television sets was reported in connection with a break-in on the 8000-block of Pasco Road Tuesday afternoon, district employees spotted a 36-year-old man on Marine Drive carrying a TV set in a bag, according to police. The suspect was later seen stashing the television into nearby bushes. Officers arriving on the scene were told the suspect was at the intersection of Marine Drive and Horseshoe Bay Drive.

The man was arrested without incident, according to police. The WVPD is recommending charges of break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of probation against the man, who has no fixed address.

The West Vancouver District Watch is comprised of municipal employees who have been trained by police to stay alert for suspicious situations.
