West Vancouver’s Navvy Jack Park will be closed for the remainder of the summer and well into fall.
Beneath the park at the foot of 21st Street in Dundarave is an underground parkade for one of the neighbouring apartment buildings. That parked requires structural repairs so the entire park above will have to be cleared.
Interim landscaping, reinstatement of grass and asphalt pedestrian access when the work is completed in 10 to 12 weeks. There will also be a public consultation process for how the park can be improved in the future.
During the closure, people can still access the Centennial Seawalk or the community gardens via 22nd Street.
