We aren't often likely to see snow at Christmastime — or anytime — in Vancouver, but we can still dream.
This year's forecast may not include a white Christmas, but these photos will help take people back (metaphorically) to snow winters of the past.
While snow isn't a certainty for the winter holidays, it usually hits Vancouver at some point each season, blanketing much of the city in snow, and even freezing some of the freshwater spots.
The 20 pics above, are all from the City of Vancouver Archive, capture wintery and snowy moments from around the city and up to the North Shore Mountains where hikers and skiers spend time.
